Bristol’s Big Leap!
After this date all money remaining will be given directly to Cancer Research UK.

To All Those Who Have Supported Bristol's Big Leap
Once again, we would like to make a heart-felt apology to those of you who did not get to zip slide across the Avon Gorge as planned on Sunday 8th August. We know that you put in a considerable amount of hard work to raise sponsorship for the event and many of you have very personal reasons for wanting to support Cancer Research UK. We too are very disappointed that the event did not operate as planned, especially after all of the hard work that we all put into trying to make this event a success, and raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Refunds
Entry fee - Please get in contact if you would like to have your entry fee refunded and we will arrange for this to be transferred back into your account straight away. In order to minimise anymore losses than we already have incurred it would be appreciated if you were able to email us with your bank account details so we can make the transfer straight in to your account. Paypal charge us a transaction fee everytime and so where possible we would like to avoid this.
Donations via PayPal – If anyone who sponsored you through our website would like their donation returned then please email us with details of the total amount you would like returned. Some of you may find that your sponsors are happy for their donation to be kept by the charity so please let us know how much needs to be returned to you. We will try to make this as simple as possible. If you need a breakdown of your donations so you know who to contact then please email us. Again with the return of donations if you were able to let us have your bank details so we can transfer this directly into your account it would be much appreciated. We would be very grateful if this was possible as it means that we are not charged a fee by paypal and thus more money will go towards Cancer Research UK.
Donations via Just Giving – Anyone that sponsored you through Just Giving and wishes for their sponsorship to be returned, needs to request a refund by forwarding their donation confirmation (which will have been emailed to them from Just Giving) to bankingoxford@cancer.org.uk who will then liaise with Just Giving directly to issue them with a refund. Your sponsors should be refunded within 30 days.
On the day payments - If anyone made any cash or cheque payment on the day and wishes for this to be returned but did not come to the Cancer Research UK tent to collect a refund, please contact Cancer Research UK direct to request the funds. We have already been contacted by some of you to say that your sponsors do not wish to receive a refund and would like to use their sponsorship as a donation towards the life saving research of Cancer Research UK. We cannot thank you and your sponsors enough for this generous gesture, if anyone else would like to offer their sponsorship as a donation this would be very much appreciated.
Future events
This was a unique event for Cancer Research UK and a challenge for us to organise as volunteers. The Outer Edge has offered to provide Cancer Research UK a replacement zip slide for you in Bristol, but they cannot commit to do this during 2010 and for this reason Cancer Research UK have decided it is in everyone's best interests to issue you with a refund where you want us to. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause but we feel that this is the right thing to do. We really appreciate the efforts of The Outer Edge in staging this event and they have agreed to refund us their fee for all funds that we have paid them to date.
Cancer Research UK does not have any other zip slides planned but you may wish to check their website to see if there are any other events which you would like to take part in.
Thank you once again for your support and patience. We wish that we could have given you all the experience of a life time as we had anticipated we would be able to whilst raising much needed funds for Cancer Research UK.
