Bristol’s Big Leap! is a challenging and exhilarating zip slide over the Avon Gorge - something which only the Royal Marines have attempted before. For the first time, the general public will be allowed to enjoy this ride of a lifetime and we expect it to be a fantastic and truly memorable day!
To enter all we ask is that you raise £200 in sponsorship and help us reach our target which is in excess of £20,000. All the money we recieve will go towards Cancer Research UK's vital research, helping to make a real difference for us and for future generations and we hope that you will join us.
The event will take place between 8am and 3pm on Sunday, 8th August 2010. Registration will be on Clifton Down in front of the Observatory in Bristol, with the zipslide itself stretching from the cliff top in front of the Observatory down to the cycle path the other side of the Gorge. A thrilling ride with an awesome view!
The zipslide covers approximately 800ft in height and 300ft in drop, is open to everyone over the age of 14 years and under 18 stone regardless of gender or level of fitness and promises to be a fun-filled day and rewarding experience for all those taking part.
Bearing in mind the exclusive nature of this event and the very small number of people that we can accommodate on the day, we ask that you please raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship. Of this total, £40 will be taken as your registration fee leaving £160 still to raise. We hope you understand that the event is designed to raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research UK and therefore each place is extremely valuable. We find that it is often much easier to raise this amount than it seems at first sight, and should you require a little help, you will find a number of hints and tips on the website which should help you reach this figure without any problems. Of course, £200 isn’t the limit and if you are able to raise more we would be hugely grateful! Every penny counts and not many causes are more worthwhile.
