Fundraising needn’t be difficult and with a little bit of imagination it can be really fun too!
We have come up with a range of ideas to help you raise money with minimum effort for maximum results, so why not get started today?
Fundraising
1. Your friends and family are a great starting point for your fundraising. See if your family can ask their friends to sponsor you too!
2. Approach everyone you know and ask them to sponsor you! If they are a UK tax payer, then make sure they tick the Gift Aid box and complete their full home address, allowing us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated.
3. Start your sponsorship form off with your most generous sponsors – if the first person has pledged £20 then this can really set the trend!
4. Set yourself a high target and tell people how much you are aiming to raise. A high target can really motivate the sponsor to help you on your way.
5. Take your sponsorship form with you everywhere, to the pub, to the gym and to work.
6. Collect the sponsorship straight away – people will sponsor you as a total pledge so ask them for the money there and then – they won’t be offended and it saves you the work of collecting it afterwards.
7. Make use of our sponsporship site - this is a quick, easy and simple way for people to sponsor you and we thoroughly recommend its use. Send them an email with the link to http://www.bristolsbigleap/ and they can simply click on the sponsorship button to pledge money specifically to you.
Company Support
1. Approaching your place of work, whether small or large, is another great place to start your fundraising. Ask them to make a donation to your fundraising and find out if your company operate a matched-giving scheme.
2. Many companies match pound-for-pound donations made by their employees to registered charities. It would be easy to turn £200 that you have managed to raise in to £400 with just one simple question! This is tax efficient for them and a fantastic way of increasing your sponsorship.
3. If you are able to advertise the zipslide on your Company's website, intranet or social bulletin board this is a very good way of promoting support for your fundraising or even encouraging others to join you!
Easy Ideas
These ideas can be done with minimum effort and incorporated into your daily routine. Pick around 4-5 ideas from the list, or think of your own, you could make £100 in no time – easy!
1. Take in your lunch or forego that cup of coffee every day and put the money you save towards your fundraising. Even better persuade your friends to do the same thing and donate that money to your great cause!
2. Have a swear box in the office and set a donation amount. I bet you’ll be surprised how much you raise and how quickly!
3. Why not get paid for the things you do already? For example, at home or at work, ask for donations when you make a cup of tea for everyone, or charge your family for doing the cleaning and ironing!
4. Empty all of your coppers from your pockets at the end of every day and persuade your family and friends to do the same. Every penny counts and they’ll soon add up!
