OVERVIEW

The momentum for high-tech connected or Smart Nations and Cities in the region is growing, led by countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and India. Using the latest technology, Songdo (South Korea), the world’s first SMART city, is due for completion in 2015 and Singapore is en route to becoming the world’s first SMART nation.

Iskandar Malaysia in Johor has also been chosen as the pilot region for a smart city model for Malaysia. Japan is conducting SMART City operational experiments in four locations while India is finalizing the framework to develop 100 smart cities.
