Chandran Nair is the Founder and CEO of the Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT), an independent pan Asian think tank based in Hong Kong focused on advancing a deeper understanding of global issues including the shift of economic and political influence from the West to Asia, the dynamic relationship between business and society, and the reshaping of the rules of global capitalism.
Chandran is a regular speaker at the World Economic Forum (WEF), APEC Summits, OECD events and various UN conferences. He is a member of WEF’s Global Agenda Council on Governance for Sustainability. He has served as Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Prof. Kaye Chon (Ph.D., CHE, FIH), Walter Kwok Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management is Dean and Chair Professor of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (one of the world’s leading institutions in hospitality and tourism management. In 2009, the School was ranked no. 2 in the global ranking of hospitality and tourism schools based on research and scholarship). In 2011, Prof. Chon received the Ulysses Prize from the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Commonly known as “Nobel Prize in Tourism”. Ulysses Prize is annually given to one scholar for distinguished contribution to knowledge creation in tourism.
Before assuming the current position in 2000, he was Professor and Director of Research and Director of Tourism Industry Institute at the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College in the United States. A frequent speaker at international conferences, Prof. Chon has published over 200 papers in international journals and professional publications and has authored or edited eight books. One of his textbooks Welcome to Hospitality: an Introduction has been adopted as a textbook in more than 100 hospitality and tourism schools worldwide. He is currently the Chief Editor of the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing and the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research.
Prof. Chon is the past Chairman of the International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators, Vice Chairman of the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s Education Council, and Chairman of Pacific Asia Travel Association Education and Training Committee.
