Mary Anne Egan is Professor of Computer Science at Siena College, where she has been a faculty member since 1997 and Chair since 2013. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from Siena College and Ph.D. in Computer Science from RPI. She worked at GE Global Research and taught high school while a Ph.D. student. Her research focuses on issues of underrepresentation in CS. She is co-PI on the NSF IUSE grant SPARCS (Siena Plan for Attracting and Retaining Computer Scientists), and has created an alternative programming contest for non-programmers (IMPACT) as a way to introduce high school students to CS.
