WATER INDUSTRY SAFETY EXCELLENCE AWARD 2026-27

 

The Water Industry Safety Excellence Award acknowledges outstanding initiatives and team contributions in considering and playing an active part in the area of safety improvement and injury prevention across the entire water industry.

Initiatives may address physical safety, psychosocial safety and wellbeing, and/or fatal risk prevention through effective critical controls and assurance.

Open to all corporate members of the Australian Water Association for projects taking place in the last two years.

 
Closing date:
26 February 2027
This award is part of the national competition to be awarded in May 2026.
 
 
Submission Criteria for this award:  
• Outline the safety issue (150 words)
• Outline process to establish the root cause (150 words)
• Describe the process established to develop the solution and how it releases the highest achievable level of the hierarchy of control for this initiative (200 words)
• Outline how key stakeholders were consulted (150 words)
• Is this initiative an original concept or how have you developed the work of others? (150 words)
• Describe the health, safety or wellbeing benefits achieved by the initiative (for example, reduced incident frequency rates, improved organisational (or team) health, safety or wellbeing performance metrics (200 words)
• How can this initiative be transferred more broadly? (150 words)
