Notification of Acceptance:

Notification of acceptance and final room details will be sent via our proposal system in August 2026 for the Fall Leadership Summit.

Online Instructions:

  • To submit a proposal, you must create a login by selecting "New User" in green above and then completing a profile. This site is not connected to our internal database or past proposal submissions so you will need to create a new profile. In your individual profile, you can be listed as a speaker, co-speaker, or the Administrator/Submitter. Please select the last category if you are only submitting the profile and not actually presenting.

  • Once you complete your individual profile, select the "Submissions" tab at the top of the page on the header bar. To add your session information, select "Your Submissions" then select "add new" and complete the submission form.

  • On the submission form is also where you will add additional speakers individually. Look for this question "Add Session Speakers Here" on that form and then select "add new" for each speaker and answer the questions under each individual speaker profile.

  • We recommend adding biographies and personal images for all speakers prior to final submission as we transfer all accepted proposal details into our 2026 Fall Leadership Summit app.

Strategic Partners (companies, businesses, and organizations) may also participate and must have selected this option as part of their 2026-27 contracted benefits. If your company/organization did not choose this option initially and your proposal is selected for inclusion, your contract will be amended. If you have questions, regarding your partner contract, please contact Deidre Hungerford, Associate Director for Business Development, by call 518.694.4885 or deidre@nyscoss.org.

If you have questions about the proposal process, site access, or your submission, please contact Kessa Cooper, Administrative Assistant and Programs Coordinator at kessa@nyscoss.org or 518.694.4782.
Proposal Selection:

  • All proposals must include clear learning objectives for attendees.

  • Session slots are limited, and submissions will be reviewed by members of The Council's Conference Committee composed of education leaders through our portal using a rubric ranking sessions from 1-5 whereby 5 is the highest score. For any submission ranked 2 or lower, we ask committee members to share constructive feedback.

  • After the committee selection process, NYSCOSS staff review all selections and take into consideration content presented, committee rankings, NYSCOSS member status, theme and strand connections, and interactive audience participation. We also review past presentation participation and how many proposals are already submitted on a particular topic.

  • We suggest presenting information and using multimedia and/or interactive audience participation. Presenters who employ creative and/or interactive techniques to engage with audience members will be given higher priority.
