Guidelines for Abstract Preparation

NUGA Meeting 2026 – Urogynecology & Female Urology in the Nordic countries

Abstracts are being sought for NUGA 2026. The meeting is dedicated to the latest advances in research and clinical practice in the field of urogynecology and female urology in the Nordic countries.

We invite researchers from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland to submit abstracts covering basic or clinical science in the field of urogynecology and female urology for NUGA 2026. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please read the information and guidelines below before submitting your abstract.

  • Use the presenting author’s contact details when submitting to avoid miscommunication during submission and review.
  • Confirmation of submission and notification of acceptance will be sent by email only.
  • Review period: Abstracts will be reviewed during December 2025; notifications will follow shortly after, by the end of December 2025.
  • Please ensure the abstract is proofread carefully before submitting, as changes or additions will not be accepted after the call for abstracts closes.
  • Remember to include a valid email address for confirmation and ongoing communication.
  • The presenting author should be listed as the first author when there is more than one author.
  • Abstracts will not be edited for content; please check for typographical errors.

Abstract guidelines & instructions

The abstract should be structured as follows:

  1. Background
  2. Materials and methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions
  • Abstracts must contain original data and meet international ethical standards.
  • Abbreviations should be defined at first mention.
  • Trade names are not allowed in the title but may be accepted in the body (in brackets).
  • References (maximum 2) may be included.

Encore abstracts policy

NUGA welcomes encore abstracts (previously presented at other international conferences) if they include updated and additional analyses/data that are original and have not been presented before. Abstracts that have already been published are not accepted.

Review & presentation format

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the NUGA Board. Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation. Authors will be notified of the outcome by the end of December 2025.

Oral presentations

  • Presentation language: English. (Slide language is optional.)
  • Duration: 5 minutes presentation.
  • Suggested slides: 5–6 PowerPoint slides to illustrate your study.
  • Discussion: 5 minutes in English or Scandinavian.

Video abstracts

To enhance visibility and engagement, authors are invited to submit a video abstract in addition to their written abstract.

  • Length: Maximum 5 minutes (MP4 format, 720p or higher recommended).
  • Content: Include title, authors, background, methods, key results, and main conclusions.
  • Style: Talking-head presentation, narrated slides, or a combination with visuals/animations are accepted. Ensure clear audio and readable visuals.

Session structure

  • 5 minutes – Video abstract presentation.
  • 3 minutes – Live discussion and Q&A with the audience.

Tips: Keep the presentation concise, focus on key messages, use visuals effectively, and end with a clear takeaway.
