The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invites you and your family to participate in our FREE education program and dinner at The Sherman Phoenix.
During this program, participants will learn about health equity and overcoming barriers to healthcare. Participants will learn about specific types of blood cancers that are more common in the Black community, including myeloma, and guide participants through the treatment process. In this presentation, we will highlight a specific blood cancer- multiple myeloma and discuss the complexities in treatment regimens as well as common supportive care. Disparities in new drug clinical trial enrollment will also be mentioned. Lastly, the audience will be provided key points to discuss with their healthcare team.
The program will cover how to respond if you or a loved one receives a diagnosis and discuss resources available to assist. The program will also address accessing quality care and identifying support systems that can assist in navigating the challenges of treatment and survivorship.
Participants will also learn about the programs and resources provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and those available in your community.
