Join us for a free educational program designed to support and guide individuals facing blood cancer. We understand that navigating treatment can feel overwhelming, so our goal is to empower you with the knowledge, resources, and support you need to feel confident and informed. Whether you're newly diagnosed or already in treatment, this program offers personalized information and a compassionate community to help you every step of the way.
We are excited to welcome two wonderful speakers who will share their expertise with you on both the patient’s journey through bone marrow transplant (BMT) or cellular therapy and the role of nutrition for blood cancer patients.
The Patient’s Journey Through Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Cellular Therapy:
This session provides a step-by-step look at planning for a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or cellular therapy treatment. It provides a valuable opportunity to see the journey unfold from a patient’s perspective, following the treatment process from the initial consultation through recovery. Whether you’re considering treatment or supporting someone who is, this session will help you understand what to expect and how to navigate the process smoothly.
The Role of Nutrition for Blood Cancer Patients:
Nutrition plays a big role in blood cancer treatment and recovery. This session will provide practical, evidence-based guidance on managing nutrition before, during, and after treatment. Topics will include managing nausea, improving digestion, and making food choices that support the body during treatment. Special attention will be given to transplant-related dietary needs, post-transplant nutrition, and common dietary challenges like lactose intolerance. With culturally relevant food suggestions, and meal-planning tips, this session will help you incorporate nutrition into your care plan effectively.
We hope you can join us for this free educational event!
