What is AI and how should companies deploy it?
Speaker Bio: Michael R. Wieck, D.B.A. is an assistant professor of accounting at Indiana University Southeast. He primarily teaches management accounting and accounting analytics. He previously worked in accounting information systems for a major health insurer. His research interests include solvency for capitated primary care practices and technology in accounting.
Synopsis: During this presentation, "What is AI and how should companies deploy it?" Michael will provide an overview of what machine learning is and what it isn't. He'll cover when machine learning should be used instead of another form of automation. He'll talk through a general model of how machine learning should get deployed and talk through two specific examples of how machine learning could get deployed (how to identify fraudulent journal entries and how to identify forged signatures).
