Topic: Agile Internal Audit in the age of GenAI and Data Analytics
Synopsis: Everyone is wondering how new technologies will change their jobs. Is my Internal Audit (IA) job in danger? Should I think about a different career? This webinar argues that new technologies are making IA more challenging and interesting, not less—but that success in IA requires adoption of Agile thinking.
Auditors can no longer be technicians who conduct tests and write work papers. That’s the future domain of technology. The auditor of the future will be a risk-focused professional capable of distilling many varied inputs and providing business insights informed by their own very human intelligence. Successful IA functions will be the ones who bring out the most in their people.
Nor can IA leaders assume the role of project managers who assign tasks to staffers and then review results. Leadership will become more about clarifying value and ensuring their teams have everything they need to deliver it.
The level of change and uncertainty present in every audit is increasing (or at least it should be!) The best internal audits will uncover or highlight new information throughout an audit. GenAI and Data Analytics are sounding the final death knell on the (already dying) idea of a static audit work program executed unchanged start to finish. Plans are still relevant, but ultimate success now stems from the ability to adapt, not the ability to plan.
Agile isn’t a process. It’s a mindset focused on things that address each of the issues identified above:
bringing out the most in people,
relentless focus on business value, and
embracing change and uncertainty.
This interactive webinar will explore how Agile mindset and methods can enable the Internal Audit profession to thrive in this new age and give participants practical ideas that they can begin using immediately.
