Stefanie Powell was the first IT auditor in the Office of Internal Audit at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) and later served as the office’s Chief Audit Executive. Stefanie began her career at Deloitte and has also held multiple operational roles including leading UNCW’s finance department and serving as an assistant dean at UNCW and the Vice President for Finance at Saint Martin’s University. She is currently the Director of Operations at the Washington State Office of Civil Legal Aid where she oversees finance and human resources and is actively involved in IT and governance. Stefanie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and management information systems from Ohio University, and she is a CISA and a CPA certified in North Carolina and Ohio.
