Internal Audit: Vision 2035 - Shaping the Future of Internal Audit

Join Laura LeBlanc, Senior Director – Internal Audit Foundation, for an engaging session exploring the key findings and strategic priorities outlined in the Internal Audit Foundation’s Vision 2035 initiative. This presentation will highlight the evolving role of internal auditors, and how we can shift perceptions, embrace technology, expand our scope, and grow our talent pipeline to create a stronger future for internal audit. The session will also include time for group discussion to reflect on the insights and share perspectives on how we can collectively shape the path forward.

Speaker Bios

Laura LeBlanc – Sr. Director, Internal Audit Foundation

Laura LeBlanc is Senior Director – Internal Audit Foundation at the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Laura joined The IIA in 2021 and leads the day-to-day operations of the Internal Audit Foundation. Responsibilities include foundation governance; fund development; research ideation/scoping; academic relations, awards, and grants; and strategic relationship building. Key areas of focus for research include the internal audit talent pipeline, risk management, and the impact of emerging technologies and macro trends on the profession.

Before joining the IIA, Laura led product strategy and new product development for management accountants at AICPA & CIMA. She focused on the future of the finance profession and created CPE courses and certificate programs to upskill and reskill accounting and finance professionals. Laura served as the staff development lead for COSO certificate programs on internal control and enterprise risk management.

Laura earned her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in English from North Carolina State University. After living in the Raleigh, NC, area for 20 years, Laura relocated with her family to Sanford, FL, where she loves weekend visits to Disney World and volunteering as a co-leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
