CIA Review Sessions (8 CPE’s per day of review): The course corresponds to the three parts of the Certified Internal Auditor examination administered by the IIA. Even if you are not registered for the exam you may find this a good overview of Internal Auditing, or a chance to learn what the exam is all about.

CIA Exam 2025 Content Specifications
The new CIA exam will be available on May 29, 2025. The content specification under the old exam have been eliminated and change to cover the Internal Audit Plan as specified in the new Standards. The content and the percentage of questions are listed below. All the questions on the exam are multiple-choice.
Part 1: Internal Audit Fundamentals: Friday April 25, 2025
Part 1 of the new CIA exam will focus on the foundations of internal auditing (35%), ethics and professionalism (20%), governance, risk management and controls (30%), as well as the risk from fraud (15%). This part has 125 multiple-choice questions, and you are allotted 150 minutes to complete the exam
Part 2: Internal Audit Engagement: Friday May 16, 2025
Part 2 puts a heavy emphasis on engagement planning (50%) and on information gathering, analysis and evaluation (40%), and much less emphasis on engagement supervision and communication (10%). This part has 100 multiple-choice questions, and you are allotted 120 minutes to complete the exam.
Part 3: Internal Audit Plan:Friday May 30, 2025
Part 3 focuses on Internal audit operations (25%), internal audit plan (15%), quality of the internal audit function (15%), and engagement results and monitoring (45%). This part has 100 multiple-choice questions, and you are allotted 120 minutes to complete the exam.
Important Information on Part 3
Part 3 of the new exam format has changed significantly. All of the accounting, IT topics, and management topics have been deleted. Therefore, if you have not taken Part 3 or have not passed Part 3 under the current format, you may want to wait and take Part 3 under the new exam which does not cover any of those topics. The new content for Part 3 is described above.
