Event Summary

Cybersecurity has continued to be a high-level concern of organizations. Ransomware has been a prevalent threat scenario causing disruption to operations and the compromise of data. For internal auditors, there are many risk and control considerations that can be assessed to understand how resilient an organization can be to a ransomware attack. In addition to Ransomware, this presentation will also explore the essential concepts of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA), highlighting their role in ensuring resilience and continuity of operations during crises. Additionally, the presentation will inform how internal audit can conduct audits to ensure that healthcare organizations remain resilient in a variety of crisis scenarios.  Lastly, this presentation will look at network basics including the fundamental concepts of the OSI network model.  The focus on fundamentals will help auditors improve their ability to assess the security of a network.
