Data Ethics - Trusted AI & Fundamental Ethics & Data Analytics

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, the ethical use of data and the development of trustworthy AI systems are more critial than ever. This talk aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to data ethics, exploring the fundamental principles that guide responsible data usage. The second part will delve into the governance and regulatory frameworks that ensure AI systems are developed and deployed in a manner that is fair, transparent, and accountable. 

Speaker: 

  • Julian Ferguson has worked in the field of ethics for over a decade, beginning in health care, then into the conflict resolution/mediation space, and finally finding himself in digital/AI ethics working with Scotiabank's Data Ethics & Use team. His work focused on operatinalizing ethical theory and promoting a culture of data ethics through education and governance. Julian is a sessional lecturer on Bioethics in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Toronto. 

 

Data Analytics using Power BI

 

This session is tailored for PoewrBi users. It's suitable for anyone working with data, regardless of their technical or analytical background. This course aims to help you grasp and apply key concepts and techniques in PowerBI Desktop, Query Editor, and Model Designer. Additionally, we'll explore some of the new AI-related features introduced in the latest versions of PowerBI such as Copilot. This is a live, instructor-led online course, presented in a demo-like format.

  • Slava Litvinenko is Data Professional with 20+ years of progressing experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Warehousing and Data Governance. He established a BI Competency Center in Scotiabank and acted as the platform owner for Tableau and Power BI.
