WEBINAR:  Sealing the Deal – Internal Audit’s Role in Mergers and Acquisitions

Date:  Tuesday, October 15, 2024

Time:  12:00pm to 1:00pm

Location:  Virtual

Speakers:  Jim Traeger, Partner in Accounting, Reporting and Advisory Services at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Corrie Sparks, Senior Manager in Accounting, Reporting and Advisory Services at Deloitte & Touche LLP

Session Description:  Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are material milestones that often require substantial financial and operational resources. What may be overlooked, however, is the importance of the internal controls and processes required to assess, record, and integrate the acquired company into the overall financial structure. Internal audit can help management understand the risks and related controls needed within both organizations to ensure that not only is a good business decision being made, but the financial information is complete and accurate throughout the M&A life cycle. Here is a link the accompanying article Sealing the Deal.   After this session, participants will be able to

  • Understand the M&A Life Cycle
  • Review risks and challenges associated with M&A
  • Identify key questions and areas of focus for Internal Audit
  • Review trends and case studies of M&A
