FEDERAL ECONOMIC OUTLOOK
Paul Traub, Economist Consultant, Americas Commercial Transportation Research Company, LLC
Paul Traub (BBA, MBA) currently is an economic consultant for Americas Commercial Transportation Research Company, LLC (ACT Research). Previously he was Chief Economist for ACT Research. was Senior Business Economist at the Detroit branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and was an economist with Chrysler LLC, ending his tenure there as Chief Economist.
Traub was an adjunct faculty at Oakland University in the School of Business and has served on advisory boards for Oakland University, Baker College, and Lawrence Technological University. At the Fed, Traub co-created the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Detroit Economic Activity Index and was a frequent contributor to the Midwest Economy and Michigan Economy blogs. He holds a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and an M.B.A. from Oakland University.
THE STATE OF MICHIGAN'S ECONOMY
Scott Darragh, Administrator-Tax Analysis Division, State of Michigan Department of Treasury
Scott Darragh is the administrator of the Tax Analysis Division within the Office of Revenue and Tax Analysis (ORTA) in the Michigan Department of Treasury. Scott has worked in ORTA since 1999. The Tax Analysis Division provides the Governor and State Treasurer with revenue impact estimates on legislation affecting Michigan’s taxes. Scott's time at Treasury has provided a wealth of research experience on Michigan's economy. Scott also spent 8 ½ years as an adjunct lecturer in economics at the University of Michigan - Flint and is now in his second term as a member of the Board of Education of St. Johns Public Schools. As a researcher, instructor, policy maker, and lifelong Michigan resident, the Mitten State has a special spot in Scott's heart. Scott received his B.A. from the University of Michigan - Dearborn, M.A. from Wayne State University, and Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
