We will co-host our Chapter Event with UW System Administration Office of Internal Audit again in May 2024! Tom Thibodeau, Distinguished Professor of Servant Leadership at Viterbo University in La Crosse, will present Serving, Learning, Leading, where you can earn up to 3 CPE, including 1 CPE of applied ethics and 2 CPE of personal development. Breakfast and lunch are optional but offer a great opportunity for networking with your colleagues from the Madison area.

Speaker Information

Tom Thibodeau is a husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and an active community member from Wisconsin Rapids who has done nothing since coming to Viterbo in 1984 but inspire students and change the world. Through the years his infectious enthusiasm, compassion, and commitment to leadership and service have also inspired countless colleagues and community members. He is the founder of the Master of Arts in Servant Leadership, the first master’s degree of its kind in the nation, and also a founding member of hospitality and fellowship resource Place of Grace, in La Crosse. Thibodeau is a popular professor, talented public speaker, and an extremely active community member who lives the Viterbo values.

  • 9:00 am - 12:00 pm – Serving, Learning, Leading – The learning objectives of this session include:
    • Attendees will learn about servant leadership theory and practice.
    • Attendees will gain insight into the “how” of ethical decision-making and working with individuals with different perspectives.
    • Attendees will learn about the power of both their words and presence.

      The presentation will be energizing, encouraging, and engaging through storytelling, conversations, and evidence-based research on the positive power of servant leadership.

*If you are planning to have breakfast and/or lunch, be sure to check those options accordingly with your session selection during registration. Breakfast and lunch orders are due by April 22, 2024.

Breakfast Option

Buffet includes sliced seasonal fruits, assorted bagels and sliced breads with a selection of cream cheeses, butter, and jams, in-house baked selection of pastries and muffins, soft scrambled eggs with parsley, breakfast potatoes with sautéed onion and peppers, and hardwood smoked bacon.

Beverages include orange, cranberry, and apple juices, freshly brewed coffee, and herbal hot tea.

Lunch Options

Lunch selections are made during registration if you will be having lunch with us.  Chilled plated lunch selections are served with mixed fruit, pasta salad, and Chef's choice dessert.

Lunch options are:

  • CRISPY CHICKEN COBB SALAD: Southern-fried chicken, bacon, bleu cheese, egg, avocado, mixed greens, tomato, cucumber
  • CAESAR CHICKEN SALAD: Fresh romaine, croutons, and grilled chicken breast tossed with parmesan and Caesar dressing
  • CLASSIC BURGER: Hand-pressed 100% chuck steak, lettuce, pickle, red onion, tomato, artisan sauce, sesame seed bun
  • ROASTED VEGETABLE WRAP: Roasted seasonal vegetables with spinach, avocado, and red bell pepper hummus
  • BISTRO CHICKEN SANDWICH: Balsamic-glazed chicken breast, Canadian bacon, mozzarella, arugula, parmesan aioli, telera roll
  • TURKEY CLUB: Sliced turkey, bacon, tomato, lettuce, and artisan aioli on toasted bread

Beverages include freshly brewed coffee, herbal teas, iced tea, and water.

Other Information

The IIA Madison Chapter is proud to co-sponsor the event with the University of Wisconsin (UW) System Administration Office of Internal Audit. Outside of the UW System Office of Internal Audit, the maximum capacity for IIA members and non-members to register is 49. 

Cancellation deadline is 5pm on April 22, 2024.  There will be no refunds for any cancellations made after that time.  Final registration deadline for the session is May 1, 2024

Parking is available in the Hilton parking ramp for $5/day. Parking is not included in the cost of the workshop or lunch.
