Course Description

The IIA Nashville Chapter is offering special, discounted instructor-led courses to provide an in-depth examination of the material for each Certified Internal Auditor exam part in an in-person classroom format. The IIA has provided a structured course syllabus to allow your instructor to guide you through a set syllabus and assignments to ensure you stay on track to complete your studies and successfully pass each part of the CIA exam. The in-person course will also allow your instructor to use class time to highlight important topics, share insights, and discuss questions and experiences with other CIA candidates across a variety of industries. The discounted price includes an instructor led course for each part, access to IIA's CIA Learning System and printed books.

The classes will be offered in three parts, allowing attendees to sit for the exam for each part between courses. Part 1 was offered on July 20, 2023. Part 2 was offered on September 14, 2023. Part 3 is offered January 8, 2024.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please indicate any diet restrictions when registering.

Bio

Evan Wilson 

With 15 years of experience in the industry, Evan focuses on HITRUST Assessments, information security, IT governance, risk and controls, and IT Compliance.

Evan has deep experience in internal audit and risk consulting experience in the technology, healthcare, financial services, and hospitality industries. He offers value to clients through assessing their IT risks and helping implement risk management plans, analyzing the design and effectiveness of IT controls, and evaluating adherence to industry standards and government regulations.

 

Erica Smith

 

With over 20 years of experience in the areas of audit and higher education finance, Erica enjoys sharing knowledge and support with others as they progress in career goals. She supports the success of Tennessee’s higher education system as a Principal Auditor with the University of Tennessee Southern and promotes the profession as the IIA Chapter Relations Committee Central 3 District Representative and the Professional Education Committee Chair for ACUA (Association of College and University Auditors).

In her current role, she focuses on championing management’s cybersecurity education and awareness efforts and serving management as a risk educator and trusted partner through assurance and advising engagements.
