LGBTQ+ History Month Showcase

We are excited to honor districts and charter schools in Santa Clara County for their remarkable efforts in promoting LGBTQ+ inclusivity. As part of our October LGBTQ+ History Month showcase, we aim to recognize their exemplary work in developing policies, implementing practices, and achieving positive outcomes.

We'll be highlighting LEAs whose signature practices align with our aims for the county

• Non-discrimination policies that explicitly include sexual orientation and gender identity.

• Curriculum that includes LGBTQ+ history, issues, and perspectives.

• Staff training on LGBTQ+ issues, including how to create safe and inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ students.

• Student support services, such as LGBTQ+ student clubs, gender-neutral restrooms, and counseling services for LGBTQ+ students.

• Inclusive language and communication practices that recognize and respect diverse gender identities and expressions.

• Safe and supportive school climates that promote respect, understanding, and acceptance of LGBTQ+ students.
