Dr. Kevin Rakszawski is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Penn State Cancer Institute in Hershey, PA. He specializes in blood cancers, bone marrow transplantation, and cellular therapies. Dr. Rakszawski received his doctorate in medicine from Penn State College of Medicine, and completed both his internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Hershey Medical Center.  

Michelle Stojanovic has been a registered nurse at Hershey Medical Center for over 8 years. She currently works as a Hematology Nurse Coordinator in the cancer institute, supporting patients and their families. Michelle has a special interest in acute leukemias and palliative care and is currently enrolled at Millersville University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Michella has a master’s degree in Forensic Medicine, and previously worked as an analytical chemist for Johnson & Johnson.

 

Program

This program is designed to provide attendees with essential information that  will help you participate more actively and confidently in decisions about your  CLL treatment and survivorship.

CLL patients, caregivers, family and friends will gain  a better understanding of:

CLL treatment, including standard care and clinical trials
Strategies to make informed decisions about treatment
Tips for communicating with your health care team
Strategies to manage disease and treatment side effects
Strategies for managing ongoing cancer survivorship issues, including  financial and employment challenges, as well as psychosocial issues
Resources available in your local community, at cancer centers,  and those provided by LLS
