Leonard Downie Jr., former executive editor and vice president of The Washington Post, has spent the past ten years training the next generation of reporters at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. His new book, “All About the Story: News, Power, Politics and The Washington Post,” was released in September. In it he recalls his journey at the newspaper he helped elevate to international prominence.
Join us for a conversation with Len about both his book and the current moment in journalism: the changing tides of media objectivity and responsibility in this highly charged political year. Southwest Borderlands Initiative professor of practice Fernanda Santos, also of the Cronkite School, will moderate the discussion and Q&A.
