Panelist - John & Kendall Antonelli Kendall and John Antonelli made a honeymoon decision to quit their jobs in pursuit of a passion with purpose that would allow them to do meaningful work side-by-side. During the midst of the recession, they opened Antonelli's Cheese Shop. In its second year of business, the mom and pop shop was named by Travel + Leisure Magazine as one of the top cheese shops in America. It has been voted "Best Artisan Food Company" in the annual Austin Chronicle poll, as well as reader-poll voted Edible Austin local heroes the past six consecutive years. Antonelli's Cheese Shop has grown from a cut-to-order artisanal cheese, charcuterie, and pairings shop into a thriving retail business with both a storefront and e-commerce site, a wholesale program selling to roughly 175 Central Texas chefs, and an events department hosting over 200 classes and tastings per year. John currently serves as Vice-President of the Board for the American Cheese Society, a national nonprofit, and has served as its Treasurer, as well as Chairman of the Judging and Competition Committee. John has been featured in the national Deli Business Weekly as one of the top people in his industry and has also judged various cheese competitions internationally. In 2016, Kendall received a Blazing Star Award from the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas and was featured in the Austin Business Journal as an entrepreneur to know; she is a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier Internationale and serves in Impact Austin. John spends his extra hours as a SKU mentor. Both Kendall and John were selected for membership and inducted into the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers in 2015, and their business is a proud member of Slow Food USA and the Good Food Retailers Collaborative, with Kendall serving on the steering committee. Kendall and John's entrepreneurial and culinary journey are made sweeter with their toddlers Everett and Elia and two adopted yellow labs Lucky Day and Luna Loca.
Panelist - Gene Arant Keller Williams Agent I moved to Austin at the age of ten and never left. I grew up near the Lake Travis area and am proud to call Austin my home. I began my career in real estate after my wife and I purchased our first home together. After that first transaction, I realized that I have a passion for real estate, and most notably, negotiating.Seven years after getting my real estate license, I had the honor of opening and becoming partial owner of the Lake Travis Market Center of Keller Williams Realty. We grew that office from a team of 5 to 290 agents. It was rewarding to work with so many talented agents and systematically infuse successful processes into our operations. I used that experience to hand-pick a select group of people to start the Gene Arant Team. After twenty years of business, we have recently opened The Welcome Center to help you, our client, with every aspect of your real estate decisions.

Panelist - Jae Kim Kim’s story of success is an inspiring one, and enough to give anyone comfort and confidence in his abilities. Kim moved to the U.S. at age 11 and had to learn how to speak English. It wasn’t long before he started his career in the food industry, first working in the back of the house at a Chinese restaurant, the only place that would hire him. By 21 he opened a coffee shop, a venture Kim says burned him out quickly, and began his Korean barbecue business out of a food truck in 2010 at age 26 after working for HEB grocery stores taking care of the sushi departments. That leap of faith has paid off for Kim, who now employs 112 full- and part-time employees. The business has been growing more than 50 percent per year so far, moving from a single food truck to its current array of locations, including those mobile units that travel around to Austin’s numerous festivals, luring new customers to the storefronts. Kim says he expects to hit the $10 million mark within the next two or three years of business.
