Applying for a scholarship?

Scholarships are available for supporting the travel of delegates to the conference. Scholarships are intended to support those who would not be able to attend without the financial support. A limited amount of funding has been made available through the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA), Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Waikato, current members of WLE and other sources to provide these scholarships for successful applicants to attend this Women Leading Education Across Continents (WLE) global conference.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must be in need of financial assistance to attend, be in a position to clearly benefit from going to the conference, with a solid potential to take home new knowledge, skills, and contacts that will benefit your local work and advance the work of WLE, and are able to cover round trip travel and associated costs eg: travel insurance) to the conference. Applicants for the scholarships must submit an abstract with their application and intend to present at the WLENZ conference.

How do I apply?

The process of applying is simple - download the template, complete it, and email it to the scholarship contact at the bottom of the form by 15 May 2015.

What next?

You will be notified by email of the outcome of your application in the weeks following your application. If you are successful you will need to confirm the acceptance of this scholarship within 7 days otherwise it may be reissued to another applicant. It is not redeemable for cash. There are two types of scholarship - domestic (for New Zealand delegates), and international (for those traveling from overseas). Please read the application form to see the differences between the two types.

When you register for the conference you will be asked to indicate this method of payment on the conference website. If you are unsuccessful in your application we hope you will still choose to attend the conference. You will be required to pay for your conference costs prior to closing dates and will be asked to select your method of payment when you register for the conference.
