Asian organised crime gangs and criminal networks in the Asia Pacific region

The paper describes organised crime in greater China and the emphasis on political stability and the emerging 'going out' problem. The effectiveness of counter-measures and the mobility and diversity of crime groups are discussed in the light of the probable scale of 'red-black' links and the role of so-called protective umbrellas.
