Bio
A graduate of Carson Newman College and the Georgia Institute of Technology, Greg Williams began his career at Appalachian Electric Cooperative in 1982, when he joined the Co-op as an Electrical Engineer. Since 2010, he has held the position of Executive Vice President/General Manager of the Cooperative, which serves more than 45,000 members in rural East Tennessee. He is responsible for all aspects of AEC’s administration and operations, supervising close to 100 employees and reporting to a member-elected Board of Directors. Williams is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee and is a member of IEEE, NSPE, and TSPE. He serves on the board of directors for the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC). He is actively involved in a variety of leadership roles with the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association. He currently chairs the TVPPA Board of Directors, and previously chaired the TVPPA Energy Services committee; he also serves on the Rates and Contracts committee, the Research and Development committee, and the Technology Innovations committee. He also participates on the Tennessee Valley Renewable Information Exchange and the Distributed Generation Integrated Value initiative.
