Description: Forensic science has come to the forefront of our lives with the popularity of numerous crime-related television shows (such as CSI, NCIS, Forensic Files, Law and Order, Sherlock and How To Get Away With Murder), disasters such as 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. and high-profile criminal cases in the news. This course will look at the role dentistry plays in both victim identification as well as in U.S. mass disaster response.
Learning Objectives:
- The role that dentistry plays in the identification of the deceased.
- Methods utilized by forensic odontologists in victim identification.
- What happens when there is little or no dental information available?
- Training necessary in order to become a qualified forensic odontologist.
