A patient’s symptomatology frequently requires the practitioner to make an immediate decision whether to treat or extract an individual tooth. The widespread utilization of implants in modern dental practice has created a tendency to place an implant when a single tooth is lost, all too often without proper consideration of the cause.
Treatment Planning of Neglected Dentition Mohammad Mujeeb, DDS, MAGD, ABGD
Description: An emergency visit to a dental office can be an excellent opportunity for the dentist to educate the patient about dental health and consequences resulting from untreated dental conditions not only affecting oral cavity but also the systemic health of an individual. This case examines the role of a general dentist in educating, motivating and comprehensively restoring a neglected dentition.
MB2 and Odontogenic Maxillary Sinusitis Bruce Cha, DMD, FAGD Description: The prevalence of MB2 in maxillary molar is high and the relationship between the apices of maxillary roots and maxillary sinus is intimate. This anatomical settings can create pathways for root canal infection to spread into maxillary sinus. This presentation will feature clinical cases of odontogenic maxillary sinusitis (OMS) caused by missed MB2 canal during non-surgical root canal treatment.

Description:Although it doesn't happen frequently, a broken implant can present a challenge to both the implant team and the patient. In this case presentation, a technique is described that restores a broken implant to function with minimal cost and morbidity to the patient.
A Tale of Two Cuspids! Alex Gonzalez, DDS, MAGD
Description:Two clinical cases involving maxillary cuspids will be discussed highlighting several take-home dental pearls from each respective treatment course. The first case involves the restoration of a retained primary cuspid that was eventually lost by an adult patient, who also presented with additional dental dilemmas. The patient’s eventual treatment choice contributed to the challenge of this case. The second case involves a teenager who suffered a traumatic injury to a permanent cuspid. The treatment of this compromised situation, which afforded limited options, will be outlined. In both cases, multi-disciplinary treatment plans were discussed and their execution involved several dental disciplines, including fixed prosthodontics, esthetics, endodontics and orthodontics.
Contamination of Dental Implant Componentry Vincent Michael, DMD, FAGD, FICOI
Description:This case report discusses extraoral contamination of Implant componentry: How to best evaluate and inspect for contamination; and decontamination via a standardized protocol.It is prudent to visually inspect all lab work for material contamination prior to mating to any implant surface, temporarily or definitively. A decontamination protocol should be routinely used to avoid contamination and subsequent misfit of implant componentry, especially at the implant abutment junction. These visual inspection and decontamination steps are easily performed and may minimize negative sequellae associated with implant restoration.
