Description: Accomplishing exquisite anterior restorative results is a combination of preparation technique and materials selections. This course will present an approach to plan margin placement and tooth reduction to accomplish the proposed tooth position, contour and color of the new restoration, as well as assuring functional success. It is challenging to select from one of the many choices of esthetic restorative materials that are available. This course will explore the esthetic and functional parameters of each material to facilitate appropriate material selection. An efficient and effective process for streamlining tooth preparation will be presented. In the hands-on portion, attendees will have the opportunity to prepare teeth for full- and partial-coverage preparations, fabricate reduction matrices, and use a variety of bonding and cementation techniques on pre-milled restorations and composite teeth.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn about anterior, full-coverage preparation design.
  • Learn about anterior partial coverage preparation design.
  • Explore preparation planning.
  • Learn about anterior materials.
  • Explore retraction and impression techniques.
  • Understand provisionalization.
  • Learn about bonding and cementation.
