Please join us for Voice of America’s town hall at Grace Hopper Celebration. Titled "Breaking Through,” the town hall will be streamed and transmitted live around the world. Danielle Brown of Google and Paula Tolliver of Intel will be among panelists to discuss the many efforts to bring about change in the STEM related fields. The panelists will also tackle the challenge of improving access to the web for women around the globe despite some restrictive cultural and social norms.

The moderator will be Sarah Zaman, a journalist with VOA's Urdu service.

Panel One: The Digital Divide The challenges that women around the world face accessing and using technology.

Nicole Archambault is a self-taught front-end web developer and founder of La Vie en Code, an educational technology company creating online prep courses for self-taught web developers.
Mehul Raje created an organization called Women TechMaker Manipal in India.
Dr. Aysegul Gunduz received her Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
ZamZam Abdi is an Open Source Student Leader currently working with Mozilla. She is an international student from Kenya at Benedict College, an HBCU in Columbia, South Carolina.

Panel Two: Breaking Through The barriers and opportunities U.S. women in tech face.

Danielle Brown is a Vice President and Chief of Diversity at Google.
Dr. Marie desJardins joined the faculty at the University of Maryland (Baltimore) after spending 10 years as a Research Scientist at SRI International in Menlo Park, California.
Paula Tolliver is the Chief Information Officer at Intel.
Michelle Leahy is the Analytics Program Manager at the Anita Borg Institute.
