October 20, 2016

GRB 310 B-C

Track: Human Computer Interaction
Type: Birds of a Feather
Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Online harassment threatens to silence the voices of technology users—in particular, those of women and minorities. In this session, we will generate a community definition of what constitutes "online harassment." We will discuss the ethical responsibilities of researchers who study harassment. Finally, we consider the technological affordances that both enable and may help mitigate online abuse.
