Tree based polynomial REGression, (TREG) that addresses the problem of data compression in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). A polynomial function (P) is computed by the regression function, TREG. Coefficients of P are passed to achieve guestimate attribute values in the regions devoid of sensors, identify faulty sensors based on approximation. This scales well with growing network density.
