Cultivating More Women in Academia

October 21, 2016
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
GRB 371 A-C

Track: Faculty
Type: Panel
Level: Students/Faculty

Women make up less than 20% of computing faculty. This lack of representation is attributed to many things, including marginalization and low job satisfaction. In this panel, 3 women from diverse institutions and different stages of their academic careers discuss their motivations for becoming faculty, dispel common myths, offer frank reflections and discuss strategies for succeeding in academia.
