In both negotiation and networking, the generosity principle has proven effective: seek to help others, and you will reap the rewards in many unexpected ways. I will describe why seeking to add value to others is an effective strategy both personally and professionally, and discuss methods of giving as a means of growing your network, and of understanding others’ needs as a basis for negotiating.
