  Kate Seear is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Law at Monash University. As a practising lawyer she is also the Academic Director of the Springvale Monash Legal Service and Co-convenor of Legal Practice Programs in the Faculty of Law. Kate is also an adjunct research fellow in the Social Studies of Addiction Concepts research program at the National Drug Research Institute at Curtin University. Her current research explores conceptualisations of AOD addiction in different areas of the law. She is particularly interested in issues including lawyers' professional, ethical and moral obligations when representing clients who use AOD and the role of law and legal processes in producing or reproducing stigma for people who use drugs.
