  Associate Professor Peter Revill BSc (Hons), PhD, is a senior Medical Scientist at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory, Royal Melbourne Hospital, within the Peter Doherty Institute of Infection and Immunity, Melbourne, Australia. His work focuses primarily on the molecular virology of hepatitis B virus (HBV), particularly the contribution of different HBV genotypes and variants, including splice variants, to the striking differences in natural history, disease progression and treatment response observed globally. He is also passionate about promoting new approaches and methodologies that may lead to HBV cure. He holds honorary appointments in the Departments of Microbiology and Immunology; and Pathology at the University of Melbourne, and the Department of Microbiology at Monash University. He is currently in receipt of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Keir Research Fellowship and is President of the Australian Centre for Hepatitis Virology (ACHV).
