ALERT: Housing Scams

Unfortunately, each year some of our Mining Indaba exhibitors and attendees fall prey to fraudulent accommodation offers.
These providers present themselves under various names which they change each year in the hope of being trusted. Their website and/or emails mentions Mining Indaba, and even include the Mining Indaba logo in the hopes of looking like an official or legitimate provider. These groups promote attractive deals with local accommodation providers, but once payment has been received, the company disappears and can no longer be contacted. Once the attendee contacts the hotel directly about their room, they realise the hotel has no record of their booking or the relevant provider.
We do everything we can to stop these companies preying on our attendees, and we don’t want this to happen to you. Please only use official providers and trusted sources.
