The 2016 GCMAS 21st Annual Meeting will be held at the Historic Peabody Hotel in Memphis Tennessee. The Peabody Hotel is nestled in the heart of downtown Memphis just blocks from one of the most iconic streets in America: Beale Street, the Memphis Rock ‘n Soul Museum, the Gibson Guitar Factory, Sun Studio, the Orpheum Theatre, and the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. Mud Island River Park and Tom Lee Park are a short walk away with 30 Acres of open space and a Mississippi Riverwalk with scenic river views winding by Beale Street Landing where Memphis meets the river.

Within a short drive you will find Graceland, the Memphis Zoo, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, and many other attractions that make Memphis the perfect meeting location. For you sports lovers in the group, the Fed-Ex Forum (home of the Memphis Grizzlies), Autozone Park (home of the Memphis Red Birds) and Bass Pro Shops at the Memphis Pyramid also offer exciting entertainment for the whole family.

Call Peabody Hotel reservations at 1-800-PEABODY (732-2639) for special conference rate of $175 for Single or Double or $195 for Triple or Quad.  Deadline to receive conference rate is 4/16/2016*. These rates are good 5/15/2016-5/20/2016. To obtain this special conference rate identify yourself as a Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society conference attendee.

*PLEASE Note: the Memphis in May International Festival will be in progress during the conference, PLEASE make sure you make your hotel reservations EARLY in order to guarantee lodging at the Peabody Hotel. It is HIGHLY recommended that all travel, i.e. flights, car rental etc. are also booked early during this high season travel period in Memphis, TN.

Memphis in May is a very busy time.  There will be many tourists flooding to Memphis to participate in the Memphis in May International Festival, honoring Canada in 2016.  

By Car – The Peabody Hotel Memphis is located at 149 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38103,
From the North: take I-55 South via Exit 1A toward Memphis (Crossing into Arkansas).  Keep left to take I-40 E/US-64E toward Memphis/Nashville (Crossing into Tennessee).  Merge onto N riverside Dr. Via Exit 1 toward Front St S.  Turn Left onto Union Ave.  The Peabody Memphis: 149 Union Ave.
From the South: take I-55 North toward Grenada/Memphis (Crossing into Tennesee).  Keep right to take 1-240N via Exit 6B toward Little Rock.  Take the Union Ave exit, Exit 30. Keep left to take the Union Ave W. Ramp.  Merge onto Union Ave/TN-3. The Peabody Memphis: 149 Union Ave.



By Plane – The Peabody Memphis Hotel is 9.5 miles NW of Memphis International Airport. A readily available taxi can transport you to the hotel. (estimated fare $30.00)

By Train – Take a relaxing Amtrak ride on the City of New Orleans which runs between Chicago – Memphis - New Orleans.  Memphis Central Station is located at 545 S. Main Street, just 1 mile from the Peabody Hotel. A readily available taxi can transport you to the hotel.  (estimated fare $7.60)  

By Riverboat – Make the 2016 GCMAS conference part of your relaxing vacation aboard the American Queen Steamboat Company that will port at Beale Street landing just steps away from the Peabody grand hotel.
