Conference Venue
The 2017 GCMAS 21st Annual Meeting will be held May 23-26, 2017, locally hosted by The University of Utah at the University Guest House and Conference Center, Salt Lake City, UT (http://www.universityguesthouse.com). The University Guest House and Conference Center is located on the University of Utah campus in the beautiful historic section of Fort Douglas on the east side of the Salt Lake valley. The hotel and conference center were the home for the 2002 Winter Olympic athletic village and the beautiful Fort Douglas area is a very peaceful and scenic area of campus. Being located adjacent to the Salt Lake City TRAX line makes a trip to downtown Salt Lake just minutes away. The Guest House provides an economical alternative for the budget minded researcher. Additionally, for students or others wishing to take advantage, rooms in residence halls will be available.

Conference Hotel Reservations:

The University Guest House is the main lodging location and the conference will be held on the Conference Level of this hotel. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-416-4075 and mentioning the group name Gait and Clinical Movement to receive the discounted conference rate of $119 + tax. Room types available are Single King and Double Queen.

Reservations can also be made online by clicking on the link below and using the Group ID and Group Password for the conference room block. The discounted conference rate will not be available after April 22, 2017 and will be subject to availability.

University of Utah Residence Halls:
Lodging is also available in the University of Utah Residence Halls for the GCMAS Annual Meeting. The Residence Halls were built in preparation for the 2002 Winter Olympics and were the location of the athlete village. The residence halls are located a short 5 minute walk from the University Guest House (conference venue) and the Officers Club (exhibit hall).

The University of Utah Residence Halls (Private Room with Shared Bathroom) nightly rate is $40 per night + tax. There is a 3-night minimum requirement for Residence Hall reservations and full payment for your stay and the $50 administrative fee is required to complete the reservation. Reservations must be made by March 15, 2017.

Getting Here:

TRAX

UTA TRAX is Salt Lake Valley’s light rail system. It has three main lines – the Red, Green and Blue Line. University Guest House is situated adjacent to the Fort Douglas stop on the Red Line, near the end of the route. To reach the Guest House from downtown, board the Red Line at Court House.

To reach the Guest House from the Airport, take the Green Line to Court House and transfer to the Red Line to University.Conference participants should ride the Red line to the Fort Douglas stop. Then, proceed across the Legacy Bridge, past the Officers Club parking lot and building, and turn left at the stop sign. The University Guest House will be at the north end of Fort Douglas Blvd. on the left hand side. For a detailed map visit the UTA TRAX website. The one way fare to and form the airport is $2.50.


To reach the Airport from the Guest House, take the Red Line to Court House and transfer to the Green Line to Airport.

Many of Salt Lake City’s major attractions, from Temple Square and Trolley Square to City Creek, are easily accessible from TRAX stops.

Airport and Shuttle

The Salt Lake City Airport is the only commercial airport on the Wasatch Front and is one of the busiest and most efficient airports in the nation. It ranks first in the U.S. as far as on-time departures and arrivals – and fewest flight cancellations. It is also only minutes from the University of Utah.
