APSAD Sydney 2016 Conference


Nominations are are being sought for the 2016 APSAD Awards in five categories.

Do you know someone you believe has made a significant contribution to the alcohol and other drug sector? Why not acknowledge them and nominate them for an APSAD Award?

The APSAD Awards will be presented at the
2016 APSAD Sydney Conference Dinner being held at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, Pyrmont.

Recipients of the APSAD Awards will be recognised as having made an outstanding contribution to reducing the harms associated with alcohol and other drug use in Australasia.

All five APSAD Awards reflect excellence in the application of theory, knowledge and practice to any aspect of drug and alcohol use or misuse.

Focus of the Awards:

•  The Early Career Award is for excellence in research relative to career opportunities

•  The Senior Scientist Award is for a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of
   substance use and misuse.

•  The First Peoples Award recognises an individual that has made an important contribution to the
   advancement of the health of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Māori peoples.

•  The Clinician Award recognises excellence and leadership in clinical practice in the field of substance
in any discipline.

•  The Mentor Award recognises an individual who has made an important contribution to mentoring and
    supporting the career development of clinicians, researchers or students

The closing date for nominations and receipt of all associated documentation for the 2016 APSAD Awards is 28 August 2016.

The winner of the 2016 APSAD Early Career Award will be announced in September and will present a Keynote address at this year's Sydney Conference.
