2020 COPA Pilot Proficiency Program

CPPP Insurance Waiver

... we will no longer accept "Cirrus Pilot Proficiency Program" under the required language*.

Please read these instructions carefully and comply fully; cycling between you, your agent, the insurance company and the COPA Training Foundation office takes time and frustrates everybody.

Flight training participants at a COPA Pilot Proficiency Program must provide the COPA Training Foundation with a Certificate of Insurance through their broker, adding COPA Training Foundation as an additional insured. Underwriters will provide the Certificate at no cost. If your insurance broker needs a reference, have him contact:

Email: rkonrath@wingsinsurance.com

*Required language is:

"This Certificate is issued to Additional Insured COPA Training Foundation/COPA Pilot Proficiency Program, their officers, employees, agents and volunteers, 2441 Tech Center Ct, Suite 103, Las Vegas, NV 89128. The Certificate Holder is provided a Waiver of Subrogation with respect to Aircraft Physical Damage Coverage."

All the major underwriters know about CPPP and have issued these Certificates for the prior courses. However, it seems to take 2 days to 3 weeks to get the Certificate issued, depending on the broker, underwriter, branch office and prevailing winds. So, please get started on this promptly.

Have your insurance broker email the Certificate to the COPA Training Foundation office.
Email - donna@cirruspilots.org

If the aircraft is owned in the name of a corporation, please have the pilot's name included on the certificate or cover note. Otherwise CPPP can't tell who is covered as ABCD Corporation.

Please forward these instructions to your broker either by fax or email. Please highlight the fact that COPA Training Foundation MUST be added as an Additional Insured with a Waiver of Subrogation. Certificates without these two clauses are not acceptable to COPA's underwriter and will have to be re-issued. Please also have the Certificate faxed or emailed, rather than printed and mailed; due to travel on COPA's end and delays with the mail etc, Certificates sent by US mail are often not processed in a timely manner.

If you have any questions regarding the above,
please contact the COPA Training Foundation office:
