The 15th Anniversary Alumni Conference

Don't miss an incredible opportunity to elevate your career with over 1000 other MLT alumni and fellows.  This conference has been expertly designed to ensure that Rising Leaders understand what they need to turn pro with the most career momentum and to equip them with the network, insight and environment to help them get there -- regardless of experience level or background.

The MLT 15th Anniversary Conference's content will be relevant and actionable for individuals, whether they are working to position themselves for a promotion or greater responsibility, transitioning to a new role within their current organization, shifting to a new company or industry, or exploring a career move. The MLT 15th Anniversary Conference will deliver the same high-level of pragmatic, insightful content and heightened experiences that MLTers have come to expect from MLT Seminars and special alumni initiatives.

Conference Agenda

Among other meaningful and experiential sessions, the conference will reinvest you in MLT’s proprietary framework for embracing your passions and unique strengths, addressing your perceived limitations, and determining the optimal pathway for the next three to five years with substantiated guidance.

Each of the four conference tracks will have five to seven sessions.

The conference sessions will also reveal various frameworks for how the highest-performing companies evaluate executive-level candidates and help attendees re-examine the bar for success at each stage of their career. In addition, there will be ample moments to connect with senior leaders across industries and build relationships with MLT partners and other MLT Alumni and Fellows.  The entire 15th Anniversary Conference is envisioned as an accelerating platform that can help Rising Leaders turn professional and become champions in their company and community.

The 15th Anniversary Gala

On Thursday, June 27, the evening before the conference, we would love to see you at MLT's 15th Anniversary Gala. We will be celebrating MLT's impact over the past 15 years, and hoping to secure the support we'll need to propel the next 15 years of progress.

Registration and additional information are here: ml4t.org/gala. Tickets are $1K per seat. However, the first 300 conference ticket holders can purchase a gala ticket for $500.  For information, or to discuss sponsorship opportunities, please contact mlt15@ml4t.org.

Logistics

MLT selected The Grand Hyatt NYC as its venue destination for all things related to the 15th Anniversary. The hotel is gorgeous and large enough to accommodate 1000+ attendees for the gala and conference. Yet, it is intimate enough to only afford one major group the space for the weekend. If you run into someone in the hotel, it is 99% likely they are affiliated with MLT! All of the 15th Anniversary Gala (held Thursday June 27 - see FAQs for details) and Conference festivities will be on site at the Grand Hyatt, which means attendees can simply go upstairs to their hotel room for quick breaks, work calls, wardrobe changes, and more.

FAQS

faq-section row-end col-md-12
How can I learn more about the MLT15 GALA?
As you make your plans, you may want to attend MLT’s 15th Anniversary Gala the evening before the conference, Thursday, June 27, 2019, also at the Grand Hyatt New York. Gala registration: ml4t.org/gala
What is the suggested attire?
Our theme is Turn Pro. Become a Champion. As such, the official attire is Suits and Sneakers (aka business attire and comfortable shoes).  MLT encourages fellows and alumni to participate, depending on your comfort level or current industry norms.  Be professional, but be comfortable and bring your whole self to the conference.
When will the planning team release the conference sessions and speakers?
MLT is creating a high impact and customized experience for each attendee. The overall conference agenda and four tracks are listed above.  Specific conference session topics and speakers will be released in late Spring. There will be six sessions during each of the four tracks engaging a range of sponsors, innovators, expert coaches, and partner organizations.
How much are conference passes or gala tickets? How may I attend the events for free?

CONFERENCE:

All-Access Pass (covers all events on Friday, June 28): $250

Conference only: $150

Recruiting reception: $40

Party: $75

Guest of MLTer: $50 (note: cannot be another MLT alum or fellow)

Professionals of color may directly purchase a guest ticket to any of the events listed above. There is a $100 premium.

Select sponsors will offer complimentary passes, and will reach out to alumni directly. In addition, here is a sample email for a supervisor or group lead to help you request the day off and reimbursement for the conference as part of professional development.

GALA: The gala tickets are now priced at $250 per seat for alumni and fellows.  The pricing matches what MLT did for its 10th Anniversary gala in 2014. At that time, the MLT team decided the gala would be more focused on acknowledging and celebrating past and current major donors, sponsors, board members, and partners — as well as serving as a critical fundraiser for MLT to propel growth across the programs.  It worked and the $2M raised help MLT to go from serving about 700 fellows a year to the 1000 fellows we serve today.

In 2014, about 200 seats out of the 1000 gala seats were reserved for alumni although about 300 ultimately purchased a ticket.  We recognize the high ticket price may not be in the cards for many alumni but the fundraiser is for the entire MLT community, not only alumni. We will have a conference after-party hosted by Dell with drinks from Diageo as a celebratory event for alumni and fellows (as Target sponsored a Red Room for MLT’s 10th). That will be free to anyone with an all-access conference pass.

How much of the conference pass cost will count toward a tax-deductible donation?
For the 15th Anniversary Alumni Conference - the amount of your ticket price that is over $200 is tax deductible; for example if you pay $250 for a ticket - then $50 of that amount can be claimed as a tax-deductible donation.
