Arriving in Helsinki
Helsinki's nearest airport is Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. From the airport, there are many easy connections to the city center (train station), within walking distance to the conference venue and most hotels. The train connection is the easiest and fastest way to get to the city (every 10 min; duration: ca. 30 min. to the main railway station which is the final stop of the train; cost: € 5,50), both P- and I-trains take you there. For more information and other connections from the airport to the city center (public bus, Finnair city bus, taxi, airport shuttle), please visit this website.
Helsinki is also easily reached by ferries from Stockholm (overnight trips) and from Tallinn (several ferries, duration ca. 2 hours). There is also a direct train connection to St. Petersburg (4 hours).
The sessions take place in three neighboring university buildings: Porthania, University Main Building and the Language Centre. A more detailed map of all venues will be provided for the participants on site in the program booklet.
Public Transport and Taxi
Around the conference venue you can find plenty of restaurants and cafes, including places serving vegan options. For restaurant tips, check outeat.fi and Visit Helsinki.
