There were 1,061 construction worker fatalities in the United States in 2019, averaging 3 workers a day. OSHA-10 Construction is an essential course for all construction workers to recognize and reduce job site hazards.
This hybrid, online and in-person training will instill safety awareness, with an emphasis on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. You'll gain knowledge and hands-on experience with the fatal four: falls, electrocution, struck-by, and caught-in or between at the COEH workplace simulation center, where you'll have an opportunity to practice lock-out tag-out, and to identify simulated safety hazards. You'll also explore topics including: personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifesaving equipment; health hazards in construction; excavations; materials handling, storage, use, and disposal; scaffolds; hand and power tools and machine guarding; ergonomics; and more.
Upon completion of this course, you will recieve a 10-Hour Construction Outreach course completion card and completion certificate.
Target Audience:
This educational activity is intended for entry level workers as an orientation to safety and health hazards faced on construction work sites, and for workers who would like a refresher. Participants interested in hands-on experience through workplace simulations will also benefit from this course.

Course Format:
This course will be taught online via Zoom, and in-person at the Richmond Field Station, Berkeley Global Campus.
Tuesday, December 7 - Thusday, December 9, 2021, will be taught online from 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM via Zoom.
Friday, December 10, 2021, will be taught in-person from 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM at the Richmond Field Station.
