ASHP Pharmacy Informatics Certificate

(process for those attending the ASHP/HIMSS pharmacy informatics workshop)

ASHP now offers a certificate program in Pharmacy Informatics. Those completing the two day pharmacy informatics workshop in Singapore could receive the certificate if they complete the following three components:

1.      Complete the Pharmacy Informatics Workshop on October 5 and 6, 2016.

2.     Complete three additional CE presentations/modules on-line through the ASHP e-learning portal: (1) Smart Pump Integration, (2) Handle with Care: Packaging Patient Transitions with Informatics, and (3) Informatics in Pediatrics.

3.     Complete a practice activity that demonstrates an application of the knowledge gained by going through the educational program. For Informatics, we are asking that the learner provide documentation that summarizes an informatics project he/she has completed.   This documentation at minimum must include:

·         Name of project

·         Primary customer /audience for project

·         Sponsor / oversight group

·         Milestones and dates

·         What was the objective of the project?

·         What was the learner’s role?

·         What was the learner’s deliverable?

·         Describe the role of others on the project team

·         Describe the scope of work

·         Describe the tasks and skills used to complete the project

·         What was the outcome? How was it evaluated?

·         List three lessons learned from the project

In addition, we encourage the learner to upload other supporting materials that support their role in the project. This might include a poster abstract, a peer-reviewed journal article, training materials developed by the learner / team for staff training, etc.

During the workshop, participants will be instructed on how to access the additional modules and submit the practice activity information.  The cost to receive the certificate after completing these steps is US$50.
