Samta Shukla is a third year doctoral student in the Networks Lab at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Her thesis aims at pursuing new interdisciplinary research directions combining modern storage technologies with cloud computing for content-centric networks, with a focus on designing novel stochastic online algorithms to improve system performance. Samta spent the summer of 2013 as an intern at IBM Research Labs, India, where she worked on developing algorithms for spatio-temporal user data analytics. She hails from India where she did her MS (Computer Networks) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Samta has presented/published her work in various top conferences/workshops. Math is Samta's passion; Samta loves to discuss math with her peers and derives pleasure in explaining difficult topics in an easy and intuitive way. When Samta is not at her desk, she can be found taking pictures of the sunset or singing in the rain or painting in a coffee shop.
