Parisa is a fourth year PhD candidate in Computer Science at University of California, Davis working under the supervision of Professor Karl Levitt and Professor Bertram Ludäscher. Prior to joining the PhD program, she received her master’s degree in Information Security. Her master’s thesis was on privacy in location-based services. She is mainly interested in security, privacy, anonymity, and applied cryptography. Parisa's PhD thesis aims at improving the existing methods for provenance sanitization, investigating the effects of publishing provenance information on data sanitization, and presenting a notion for quantifying privacy risks that is aware of the nature of both data and provenance.
